Luminous Time

LUMINOUS TIME
(Radium)

to light up one’s face
emitting the time of night…
lives taken in lieu.

This is true, and sad, to know that lives are sacrificed for the sake of science. Good to see you here, Harry ! Happy New Year to you and yours!

Harry this is so poignant - I understand workers licked the brushes to create a fine point to work with the radium and sadly so many of them dying of cancer as a result

I heard a story about that how that women who worked in the first factory that did the luminous dials thought it was fun to get that on them for they would glow in the dark but then they died from different forms of cancer from the exposure..Great work telling about the story..Thanks for the visit to my page..Sara

"First two lines speak about the constructions of the use of luminous Radium and the last line frustrates us when it is used in atom bomb to take lives. Beautifully expressed about construction and destruction of the same element. Genius. Loved always,my lovely friend,bl"
