Lullabye

If I was to die tomorrow would you mourn me today?
Would you hold me close,
and soak my skin with tears of regret?
Would you kiss my heart,
but not my lips willing me to live?
Would you break my bleeding heart pounding in my ears?

Or?

Would we dance in the rain,
and make love under the moonlight?
Would you leave me breathless,
and bleeding living for today?
Would you hold me close,
and whisper soft, secrets of the unknown?
Would you caress my skin,
and sing me a sweet lullabye as I drift off to my new life?

If I die tomorrow, Do not mourn me today.
Lets live for every second and celebrate our life.
For when tomorrow comes and I drift away,
I will begin my new life to your soft caress and our sweet Lullabye.

You put forth some good questions for your loved one, Ashley. I hope you will find the answers you hope to receive. Having experienced the pain caused by one who professed love only to turn away in time of need, I know how much you want to be sure your lover is sincere. A very thought-provoking poem. Love, Carolyn
