Lullaby

When you lay me to sleep, Could you sing me a lullaby? Just to hold off the tears, I must cry when I wake, And you’re not by my side. Will I dream, Of your warm embrace, Of your hand as it’s pulled from mine? Please don’t let me drift in my dreams, So far from a world Blessed by your eyes. As I drift to sleep, I would like to hear your lullaby, To lull me into dreams Blessed forever by your voice. Can you stop the tears, Of tomorrow? Place your hand once again in mine, Pull me into warmth again, So long has it been Since I heard your lullaby. Lull me to sleep As we both dream, Of a hand so distant, Of a voice so far, Of a lullaby That echoes in our hearts. Never will I forget, As I sing alone Our Lullaby.
