Lullaby

Lullaby.
Lull me now
To sleep.
Let me sink
Into the sea of dreams.
The familiar scent
Of my pillow--
The scent of home.
Let me rest
Secured beneath
My blanket.
Till the warmth
Of your embrace
comfort me.
I close my eyes,
My mind betrays me.
It tells me of fear--
Lurking in the dark.
Tears flow.
Let me remember your smile,
The soothing voice--
the lullaby.
Let me sleep...
The sound of footsteps.
The beating of my heart,
Leaping with joy.
You are here.
Let me arise and greet you.
Let my voice brighten
Your weary eyes
As your voice rested mine.
The lullaby.
