Lucky To Feel Loved

Let's start out by saying that love's not a picnic,
Though blue sky's de rigueur, there's no guarantee,
In love, you may feel you are higher than Sputnik,
But if she's "the one," can you say your heart's free?

To feel with your heart is the fount of what's human,
Our dreams too have outcomes that we don't control,
To block any feeling suggests heart's bitumen,
(Perhaps value burning but hell for the soul!)

And sure, Love brings heartache, but pain too is "feeling!"
To feel both in excess suggest's we court doom!
A balance exists between failure and dealing,
But champions always must "stay in the room!"

So if this is you and your lover reflects this,
My friend, you are lucky, a mensch with few peers,
And even though rogue has a "notch" cut for each kiss,
It's "time in the room" that's one's luck through the years!
