Lucky Man

What is it about her ----

   which finds my eyes
   wandering her tall
   pretty presence? ----

Where she is ,
   what she is doing
   (with whom) ----
   who could be so lucky,
   to have her soft company?

Though, I do not 'know' her yet,

   I know her enough
   to make her smile ----
   caught her looking for me
   in a crowd of comrades;

They were more handsome than I,

   yet I the taller,
   for my heart stood on red ladders
   (the ---- 'Angel on Earth' feeling:
   overtook me,
   (I have never been so clumsy)
   swooning (against my will?)
   in her violet eyes

She goes out of her way

   to be near me, it seems
   I've noticed,
   for I longed her there....
   standing so close,
   her soul brushed mine ----
   two racing hearts ----

But she must leave for him;

   a very lucky man,
   who knows her better then I,
   who knows the affections of her heart,
   (what makes her happy)

By moonlight to walk with some Goddess

   as she. slender with silk grace,
   a scent of heaven in her hair;
   it is good to be man,
   when she is near....
