Lucky

We're so lucky... In the whole wide world of livin' breathin' you's and I's but separately apart, we found Each other...lucky... And both at once at one time Simultaneous you might but fortunately didn't say looked saw understood the way it was With one another...lucky! But tie-ups Some green slime of disillusions past and present spouse spouses nice Offspring miscellaneous and respective. We looked saw touched What the hell who owns us ?inconsequential fights ?sex in a bed Insomniatic 'nother cup if coffee? We look talk know each other Livin' breathin' you and I but separately apart untarnished illusion shiny bright... Why, I can hardly stand to be so lucky!

I've read a few of your poems and find a sarcastic edge to them, and a depth that only comes from paying attention to the world around you...I will read some more... Frederic

Yes, I too find that reality has layers. That's what interests me. In "The Iceman Cometh," Eugene O'Neill wrote about sitting on the fence, seeing both sides of everything so that the character was immobilized. Decisions still have to be made! Elizabeth
