Lucifers Lullaby
Your slumber is long overdue
So hush as I sing this for you
Now sleep the entire night through
As your mummy and I hope to do
Your mummy seemed really quite certain
There’s no-one hid behind the curtain
The scratching noise inside the wall
Is just when the rats creep and crawl
There’s nobody hid in the closet,
There’s nobody outside the door
There’s nobody outside the window
I haven’t checked under the floor
The night monsters under the bed
Aren’t likely to bite off your head
The old man with long pointed chin
Ain't planning to tear off your skin
The nun that looks like she’s gone nuts
Is dreaming of eating your guts
But won’t stick her axe in your head
Unless you’re asleep in your bed
There’s nobody hid in the closet,
There’s nobody outside the door
There’s nobody outside the window
I haven’t checked under the floor
No flesh eating slug just a blood sucking bug
Is waiting to puncture your veins
The slavering zombie won’t give you a hug
Or chew up then spit out your brains
All of this happens just rarely
Of this I’m quite certain...well... fairly
So hush little one, rest my son
This long dark night has just begun
There’s nobody hid in the closet,
There’s nobody outside the door
There’s nobody outside the window
I haven’t checked under the floor
My son, if you’re nervous of some freaky creep
Whose howling and screaming will rob you of sleep
And upset your mother, my good lady wife
Let me say welcome...
To my life!
