Notes About The Poem

LOVING EYES FOCUS HEART SIGHTS

"If love lived as we imagine rather than dressed in reality’s fashion, the world would be filled with wonderful passion." Poet

Loving eyes often just see how they feel
based on their heart's inherent color wheel.
Logic's view is not considered much
once eyes have hooked love for hearts to reel.

Love resides within loves own clutch
where sweet visions clasp focused touch.
Lacking sightings of any downfall,
love bright eyes do not imagine such.

Sometimes love fails to see the wall
time evolved, incredibly dark, tall
and built from piled heart debris pain.
Love wide eyes are blind to false thrall.

Dreamy eyes never sought to view love's strain,
nor has any heart seeking gain.
Love wants to embrace all its true view knew,
not add more pain to mark time's dark wall stain.

Back with hearty congratulations on your top win in this contest with this lovely poem on the focus of loving eyes, on feels rather than on logics. Wishing you a pleasant weekend.

A lovely Rubaiyat on love. This reminds me of the verses of of a french poet: " L`amour a des raisons que la raison ne connait pas." A literal translation would be :"Love has reasons which reason does not know".We can as well replace reason by logic as in your poem. I have written mine since more than a week. Will post it shortly as the contest seems slow-moving. Wish you all the best in the contest.

A well-written Rubaiyat that should highly qualify. I wrote one, but the rhyme scheme was faulty. Someday I'll post it, but not now. Best for a win.

This is so beautiful, CayCay. The scripture says "if a man gave all his substance for love, it would utterly be contained"- a perfect poem for Valentine's. Hope you have a good one <3

Interesting - logic is not much once eyes have looked love.

We fell in Love at first sight but young and stupid. 25 years later we still loved each other, adults in their late forties and although we had drifted apart 25 years ago we harbored that love through thick and thin, through even marriage to others. We both had business in the same town, so we inevitably bumped into each other. ELIAS was divorced 3 years when he phoned me but i was divorced 13 years. When i heard him on the phone I KNEW WE WE WERE GOING TO get married, three weeks later engaged 6 months later married. That was in the year 2000. He is the most wonderful man anyone could hope to find, AND MY HEART STILL GOES FLIP FLOP FOR HIM. SO OUR EYE LOCKING WORKED, but i think we are exceptions to the rule. I Enjoyed your poem Cay CAY SO VERY MUCH. Lots of love Jen. Jen,
