Love's Promises
He promised
To take care of me
When my heart was breaking
When the pain brought darkness
When the doubt was so disheartening
He promised
To give me hope
When everything feels hopeless
When my soul is searching
When my thoughts are full of fears
And my soul is filled with tears
He promised
To erase my despair
When hues of sorrow press in around
My thoughts, my feelings, my prayers
He promised
And I believe Him
The One who smiles down – He sees me
From a home where I’ll one day go
Because He is love – raining from above
He promised
To never let me go
To always hold me – to always show me
That His love is the answer, the light –
The reason I’m smiling, the reason I try
He promised
To save me from harm
And that promise has proven good
He is love and He is hope – He is grace
Sent down to bring me through it all
He promised
So I know
Love will save me
Love will overcome
Love will defeat every enemy
And bring my soul the greatest peace
I believe in His promises
Because He is light, He is love
He is the Son of God above!
Acts 2:39 (KJV) For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
