LOVE'S LONG VOYAGE
Zoom! Zoom! Heartbeats echo & flicks like light,
Journeying from early Lagos to Port Harcourt late,
Sacrificing caution, adventure takes the wheel
To be with you, the one my heart reveal4
Vroom! Vroom! The engine purrs, a gentle hum
As I traverse the distance, our love has become
A journey of devotion, a path I gladly roam
To reach your arms, my haven, my heart's home8
Whoosh! Whoosh! Wind whispers secrets in my ear,
Whispers of the miles I've travelled, the love we hold dear
Through cities & towns, the wheels roll into the night
To reach you, shining bright like a luminous light.¹²
Ping! Ping! My heart beats fast, a love-struck refrain
As I cross the rivers, the bridges, the plains
To reach your embrace, my soul's sweet pain
In Port Harcourt's arms, emotions go insane.¹6
And when I return, from East to West
The same distance, same love, I'll find my rest,
Surviving Benin barricades, I crossed the state.
In Lagos' arms, our love will forever nest²°
Although East to West, home is best,
Our sacrifice of love surely knows no rest.²²
