Lover's Hands

A lover once told me
that my hands were

I lifted my hands
towards my face
as if I'd never seen them

When she saw this,
being a woman,
she understood

She clutched my hands
to her breasts
and told me

"This is a compliment, my love"
and being a man,

Now, when I look
at my hands, it's
as if I'd always known
