Loveplay -

I love the way you talk to me
like a girl aching for warm mystery,
touching herself with tender hopes
that what she loves will kiss her notes,
you wonder why the world has given you my heart
with a shy lust for my every part,
yet like an orchid oracle
your voice is smooth and lips infallible,
and as you play with the prism of our passion
on fingertips of curious obsession
you realize that I ache as much
for the rush of your touch -

Justin, this is soft fire--whispers wrapped in want. “Orchid oracle” and “fingertips of curious obsession” are stunning. The rhythm flows like breath between lovers, and the last line lands like a heartbeat. Beautifully felt and delicately bold.

Always intimate, always vulnerable ... this is where your pen succeeds. I must say, when it comes to the romantic verse, you've set yourself for high expectations ... always believing I'll find gold when I click on a romantic one of yours. PS. Thanks for your comments on my work, it is appreciated... I like to play the piano (but at times it feels like the piano plays me ... perhaps that's why it snickers ... lol). Have a great rest of your day.

Seeing that you've come so far throughout the years of reading your work, it comes as no surprise that you've successfully written another romantic verse. I also like "prism of our passion", there is a voice of reassuring, charming confidence in this poem to complement perhaps a more coy, inquisitive counterpart. I like that you often achieve balance in love expression, it is endearing. Always a thrill, studying your creations, Justin! Added to my growing list of favorites.. Always, Laura

Can I just say that I feel blessed being exposed to this kind of work, dear, amazing poet "with a shy lust for my every part" - I think it takes a certain intelligence and sensitivity to detect shy lust. The orchid line is lovely as well. Personally I am drawn to the beauty and uniqueness of orchids, so it is a delight to behold its presence in this poem, even if you just mean to accentuate its color.

A shy lust oft leads to the most robust lust, you, like me, possess a very rich sensitivity for what stirs the hot heart. I employ the word oracle herein with intent of multiple purpose, as in a sign, and as a vibrant voice of feminine love Laura. The orchid is the delight of her body...J.A.B.
