Loved Position # 9

Took my poetry down to the Soup,
You know the Muse really likes this group.
Got a site on the net that’s been reading real fine,
tried to win a place higher than…Position # 9.

I thought I just might be a flop at this
but placing # 9 just elevated my bliss.
I didn’t know if I’d come or go,
the indecision shook me to and fro.

I got so excited, I didn’t want to blink,
I held my prose, rubbed my eyes, the Haiku didn’t stink.
I’m thanking Gareth for mixing this drink,
he could’ve flushed it down an outhouse sink.

Since placing in the contest with a # 9,
gonna stick around by submitting more rhyme
and If I hit the top on my 99th time,
I’ll never forget how “I Loved….. Position # 9!”

**In celebration of my first win in “Familiarity Unknown,” any other similarity is purely
coincidental and couldn’t be helped. Lol.

Hey John, this made me really laugh! Congrats on your #9 in Gareth's contest. There are a lot of us who didn't place at all, so you have a right to feel "bliss." So glad you are happy today! Love, Carolyn
