Love Walks Through Fire

Rather for the taking than sharing, sharing just a little to know,
Pulling the wool over my eyes, and using it for his show,
With just a sprinkle of depth, and a dash of compassion in his eyes,
In the moment I fall prey to caring more, but afterwards I realize,
It's trickery at its finest, the wind that fans his flame,
All for him with no reciprocating, it's all about his gain,
In the moment giving me hope that he's finally open to love,
Then he retracts pretending it's not real and sweeps it under the rug,
When visitors arrive he stomps on it, as if its dirt beneath his feet,
Crushing the heart he so desperately wants, he only sees it after they leave,
His madness catchs up to him, and yet he falls right back to his routine,
He cannot help himself or so that's how it seems,
I look past the crushing with sympathy because I won't lose the love inside,
I'll refuse to play the game the enemy uses to try to kill the love that's alive,
So is it really falling prey? Or is that the pain just talking?,
Because inside my heart is just the opposite, my love for him is still walking

Nobody has ever gained true love by chasing it. True love comes to you. Good luck .

I agree, it's totally unatural....when I try to ignore or walk away he's right back in my face seeking attention and having no choice but to be around him actually makes it worse...but it's only for a time and cut off date is close. ...

A leopard does not change it's spots. Doon't let your love prevent you walking out the door when your resolve weakens. Good luck with your tortured love.

I totally agree ....and thanks you, when I no longer have to be subjected to this individual on a daily basis I can breathe again, and when the door shuts completely it will be double pad locked! Lol :)
