Love To Live

Why do people think they always
Have something to prove?
Chest out, chin up,
They flex to scare
To intimidate
To ward off.
Like monkeys, really,
They won’t learn
Just continue to live
And in effect
Proving nothing.
We owe it to ourselves
To believe, first,
In ourselves.
Proving only
To us,
To God.
Live properly, as taught, hopefully,
By our fathers before us
So not to make
The same mistakes
Proving we can
Learn to live,
Learn to love,
Live to love,
Love to live.
