Love Teetering

I feel it near me again A sweet soothing to coat my soul The fragrance of red flowers in the air And a warmth to withstand the coldest wind Nervous now, for it has been so long My heart pounds so hard in my chest As my mind weighs the past and the pain I wring my hands as I squint in the sunshine I'm afraid, so very afraid My mistakes are many and victories few But maybe this one is different Or maybe I'm confused again My body knows it's right Arms, legs, my stomach, my skin All tingle in her presence Her touch makes my heart sing to the shadows But if nothing, I will die again The darkness will consume me And my love will be deeper hidden still So I can do nothing but teeter on sharp indecision
