Love Story ( How I Met Me Wife)
She sat on the bench eating a pear
My eyes were drawn to her in an eye-popping stare
She was shorter than me so I was in love
I have to have this woman, an angel from above
She worked in a restaurant across the way
So I would go in and order toasted cheese twice every day
For three months, every day toasted cheese
Till the voices in me head said “ We sick of it, ask her out please.”
So I went in to ask her out
The place was packed, people all about
Now the counter slopped away from the customer
So I tried to lean on it, slipped and fell what a bummer
She rushed round and just before I past out, before it was too late
I slurred “Will you go out with me for a coffee or a tea,” and that was our first date
The next day I sent her flowers and a card
I paid a lot, so the rest of the month was hard
I called her in the night to see her reaction
She was delighted with the affection
So I told her you are going to be my wife
She laughed and said get a life
She said how do you know
I said I prayed for it and God said so
We dated and eight months, we married
And boy what an effort it was over the threshold she was carried
That should have been the warning, not better but worse
We live together, don’t talk and I stay with an empty purse
