Romeo's love for Juliet, Antony's for Cleopatra, A Pilgrim's love for the Haj, for Mecca, for the Shrine of Aquinas; Rapunzel's love for her hair, and Samson's for his strength; Tom Sawyer's for Becky Thatcher, and Sidney Carton's for Lucie Manette.
