Love Rules All, Even Time and Space

What is sorrow, when the strong hand of love
     lifts you up and redeems you from despair;
and saves you, then guides you from up above;
     and forgives you with mercies that forbear?

What are death and the grave that make you tremble
     so greatly, when the resurrection lives;
and when eternal life's a miracle,
     a free gift to those who choose to forgive?

What then is greater than these severe trials,
     but the transcendent power of divine Love,
that's full of truth and light which never defile;
     nor has any corruption like Jove?

Sorrow, death, the grave—all surely must face:
but Love rules them all, even time and space!
