Love Prevails
In this world
of broken dreams
and tarnished hearts
love prevails
in small acts of kindness
You re-kindle a flame
in my barren heart
restore my faith
in the human race
As the sound of a train
in a long, dark tunnel
reverberates all around
your generosity
holds me
in a powerful embrace
Meanwhile, somewhere,
miles from here
you quietly go on living your life
unaware of the miracle
you have wrought in my soul
