Love of Language

Words, my whiskey
On late, peaceful nights
The first catch of the day
The thrill of a bite

Language, my coffee
On a nice breezy morning
A cool shower in July
That comes without warning

Quotes, my motivation
When feeling defeated
A surprise love affair
Naughty and heated

Poetry, my love
My utmost addiction
It calms me down
After a day of friction

Rhymes, my reason
When I lose control
The confidence and pride
That someone else stole

Writing, my mission
My purpose to fulfill
Not sure what I'm achieving
But I'm writing still

Great lines with majestic eloquence.. Your meandering of words still did not prevent your peice from giving out its message. This is an absolute 7!

:D What a smile maker this is and I do hope more people stop by and say how wonderful this is. We all feel this way on Soup,"Not sure what I'm achieving but I'm writing still."Keep writing and trying new things. You'll be surprised where that will take you. I will be published in the Fieldstone Review this June... and I've had encouragement from other editors. Four years ago, I did not know what enjambement or assonance was... I so enjoyed this poem. Thanks for your comment. It lead me here.
