Love Note: After All

When you are near me
I lose my mind
I forget my own name
As though I am waking from a deep sleep
It sounds lame

After all you drive me insane
A secret buried deep within the crevices
Of my heart, you are that spectrum
That burning flame
The thrill that I found to press my cheek to.

When you are near me it is as if
You slow time
I don't mean to play this same song
But we both have our own worries
After all who is going to love me?

Have you fallen for me?
I have fallen for you.
Feels like fifty feet down
But how did we happen?
Are we not ordinary people?

This life feels extraordinarily fictitious
After all it's been eons since we have
Communicated, exaggerated, facilitated
A thought of a whisper
We are both simmering in our own misery

Are we not?

Thanks Ann. I feel better about this piece now. After all love is just an after thought. Right?
