"You can't blame gravity for falling in love", Albert Einstein
Would you love me if I was not a poet,
If my words did not flow, if I did not know it?
If my verses did not dance, like leaves in the breeze,
Would you still cherish me, just as you please?
In verses of love, I penned my dreams,
My darling believed it was mere whimsical schemes,
She urged me to clasp her tender hand,
To feel love's enchantment, no need for poems' strands.
If I could not paint pictures with words on a page,
If my stories did not ignite a creative blaze,
If my heart did not bleed ink, with each heartfelt line,
Would your love for me, like a star, still brightly shine?
In a world where love is found without poet or poem,
Meeting of eyes sparks a radiant, eternal home,
Smiles reach deep, their gentle art,
I do not need to be a bard to secure your heart.
For beyond the words, beyond the poetic art,
Resides a soul, a beating, loving heart,
And though my verses may falter, my muse may depart,
My love for you, dear, will forever impart.
