Love Letter Ii

ETHEREAL EMBRACE
In divine abode of Hindu god Indra To the music played by the Gandharva Dances celestial dancer Apsara Astral beauty glitters on Menaka. On earth you came from heaven like angel Ascetic’s stern meditation you broke I know how alluring can be your spell Fire of secret craving in me you stoke. In my enticed vision you come alive I see you dance in enlivened fresco My sensual dream doesn’t break, I strive Let my life shine in ethereal glow. You’re a hidden star in heaven somewhere I’ll find your warm embrace when I go there.

I must confess I am not at all conversant with Hindu Gods or Goddesses but did not detract from a wonderful read... Congratulations... Mick

Beautifully woven. I admit to being ignorant about your culture and now feel compelled to look up all whom you referred to in your first stanza. Without meaning to do so, you may be the reason I learn something today! Thank you for that and the poem. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Thank you, CayCay for visiting. The basis is Hindu mythology. Apsaras are depicted in many ancient sculptures, paintings and frescos in India and in the neighboring countries.
