“Love can change a person’s life, leave him breathless, either building him or breaking him”~ By Poet * * * * Cupid the great archer, Shoots his arrow heedless! On some, it cuts through the heart. On some others, it only scrapes through. On a few, it misses the target. Once shot down, it leaves one breathless. Heart trumpeting, shifting from one beat to another, Rhythmically, making it pound quicker. Opens in one the inlets of pleasure. It makes one ecstatic and foolish, With thoughts disjointed, emotions running amok. Spirit confounded and compounded. It is madness, a pleasant kind of madness! It comes and goes, leaving one breathless. Guts highjacked by anxiety or ecstasy, Always in throes of a pleasant ache, Making the heart run a race, keeping one on his toes! Love starts differently in varying intensity, But it ends in a familiar way, in the same manner.
The sweetness ends, infatuation dies, sour taste lingers, boredom persists!

Such a powerful yet vulnerable poem... Love is a mystery with high risks, yet we sprint towards it with glee--despite the bruises and scratches. I love this poem so much, Valsa, thank you for sharing this. Oh, and congratuations on the win!

Valsa, most of the time a woman is the one who has to fan the flame and stir up the dying embers so the love affair can continue. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K

Oh this is so heartfelt and theres so much wisdom too in your words dear sweet valsa! I felt the lines "The sweetness ends, infatuation dies, sour taste lingers, boredom persists!" So true! Honeymoon period or phase is what we call that, when it ends its comfortable boredom that persists, and we just learn to get on with it, such is love and everything else but some love when its unconditional and true stays forever the same. I really love the way your poem flows and the creative nature of it! Pleasure visiting you. Are you traveling already? Sending you light always

Cupid ought to be hanged. Sad poem but as usual brilliantly written. Blessings.
