Love Lasted For Awhile

Fruitful with cheer
I smile from over here
She gave me a smile
Love lasted for awhile
Life is worth living
She holds my hand forgiving
I reach out to her
She closes the door
I open myself to her
She doesn’t respond, I abhor
We still carry on
As if love can create a dawn
I rely on her strength
To get me through in length
I hold her very close
Even though our life is comatose
Our relationship just died
And I don’t know why
It could be the distance
We are apart this instance
Leagues away from each other
So far I cry; I’d rather
Be separated too, so we agree
We must end our spree
Of lustful bliss, you and me
Though we had moments of joy
Now we are happier I employ

Russell Sivey

Story is made up, my wife and I are doing great!

lovely work on the hot and cold, passion staggers off, so long, so long you got your ration, moving right along, not dashing, crestfallen me ego crashing... just a waiting 4 the gong:)

I like this form for you, Russell...intense couplets of love and despair...Hate to say, but for me some of these lines do ring true...Love's rollercoaster ride can bring so much fun and pain...Just a great write from you once again! :) Gwendolen
