Love Is Pain

Makes me furious seeing a woman with a bruise over her eye.
The smeared mascara from the tears she's cried.
Pain he's caused, scarring her inside.
Silent Prayers are whispered into the night.
You're under one helluva spell when you don't tell.
You're not well when you accept being put through hell.

It's been awhile since you've focused rself.
Staying with that man is simply bad for your health.
Because of him there is so much life you've missed.
How could you love a man that mistakes a kiss for a fist?
He's not stable; definitely not mentally okay.
If his idea of "love" is to physically harm you in such a way!
You're under one helluva spell when you don't tell.
You're not well when you accept being put through hell.

Stand up! Free yourself from those emotional chains.
No more scrubing shirts from blood stains.
Your world will be a happier, warmer place.
No more heavy makeup covering your pretty face.
So be strong now and walk away.
Live to love "you" and your children another day.

Timely write, Jimmy. Any man who strikes a woman needs help. True, some women are provoking, but that is not a good reason for violence. Like you, I get very angry when I see an abused woman. Congrats on the selection. Dave

Congratulations on being featured on homepage with this excellent write about something that needs to be changed in this world..It is amazing that God made man and woman to love each other and the man to be the protector and satan has twisted that position into one of abuse...That soul mate love relationship where each other knows the other one so well is twisted in that kind of relationship and that man uses his knowledge to slowly destroy that woman.I am glad that I chose this one to read.Sara

Too true in these times, I preach the same sermon in my taxi at least once a week. Only to get excuses, but I try

Sadly, these happenings are oh so common in society, only a weakling would hit a woman, written with feeling, thank you for sharing Jimmy >> James
