Love is like the Rose, Soft and gentle in repose, Blinded to its thorns, Bleeding willingly we hold Tightly our grip upon it. ~~~~~~~~~ Love comes as thy night, In its darkness, we are thrown, Sheltered like the bud, Unaware of true beauty, Love's light starts from the inside.

What a lovely poem, the last line is so true. Love is internal it has to start in the heart. If it starts anywhere else it's not love it's lust.

Hi White Wolf. This is another excellent write from your pen. I find the Tanka form quite hard to do, trying to stick to the form on whatever subject i am on.You have fit your subject so skillfully into this form. Your words describe the thought so well. It is easy to see the picture in my mind of the canvas displayed, painted by your fine words. A wonderful job my friend. Your Friend always....Mike.

ahh, so true and wonderfully illustrated. The rose, so beautiful, but with thorns, just like love can be. VERY nice Rick :)
