Love Is Like
Love is like wine
Bittersweet,
Love enough to make me sick
Rip my heart out
Its yours now
Be gentle.
Love is like a sickness
Once you got it,
it must run it's course.
Teasing your emotions,
Butterflies in my stomach
Rid me of it.
Love is like a debt
so much at first
its more than enough
unaware its eroding your heart
breaking it down into nothing,
left with emptiness.
love is like a mad dog
chasing cars in the street
such a rush is the run
such a pain is the hit,
bones broken left in the street,
only to start over.
love is like a drug,
the first trip is the best,
high as a kite.
dependency settles in,
isn't doing what it did.
sweating and shivering
time to come down.
