Love In Peaces

"Love in Peaces"



Pieces caught
up in mirrors
reflections 
of life broken 
and sought 

Made from Iron shards
sharp
not made from Gold

Love 
is never a game
Love 
is never to be bought
nor sold

Life’s silver shadows
pieces played out
on 3 dimensional scale
A Jigsaw puzzle 
unfinished on an open table 

Freedom’s narrow
for the most part
when Love 
becomes a piece 
to be moved in a game

Life is the game
its table’s legs 
never stable 
Love is the peace
missing

Love 
checkmating 
Peaces

Truth
diminishes
Fables

Gathering the symptoms
of all we have

That is a beautiiful interpretation Connie. Not exactly my interpretation; it is amazing though to read other's and for those readers, other than those for whom the poem was intended for, if they take away their own interpretation that is a good thing. Poems should be read many ways. If a person is fortunate enough to have both love and lust (good lust) in their relationship, then this is a beautiful thing. Lust eventually disappears for all, it is transient, like looks/beauty; it is love that remains, in it's many guises, good or bad. Hopefully good. This poem is about a war of the Roses, and what was dealt as a commodity, should have always been seen as 'pure' Love and not a piece to be bartered for. It is also about how lust for the wrong thing in life, can totally F a family up. It also enforces that what one truly wants at the end of the day, is Love and Peace. x
