Love and the Rose

Love and the rose
love is like a beautiful rose
with the thorns still on the stem
be very careful you might get pricked

as beautiful as a rose can be
as intoxicating as the smell can be
don’t be overwhelmed by the beauty you see
you could be in danger of getting pricked

when a rose is cut from the bush
it will die soon enough
nothing you can do to prolong its life

relationships and love pass away everyday
that is a part of life so be prepared to except
the inevitable truth that love is like a beautiful rose
with the thorns still on the stem
be very careful you might get pricked
