Love and Lust
LOVE AND LUST
Thoreau so wise,
“the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.”
Materialism isn’t desperation,
It’s football, a game,
not desperation for the sane,
And never goes quiet,
Yet; Love and Lust,
a battle, a challenge,
eye and heart sync,
Victory! Victory!
a young man’s prize,
This too shall pass,
Always,
Then, Love and Lust,
Held tightly within,
Delusions of course I say,
Desperation of desire burns,
seething quietly, slowly, desperately,
Just quit I say,
Wonderful, Love and Lust
Then she smiles,
Elation, yes this is love,
Rainbows fade too quickly,
Peaks and Valleys,
Quit, nay, I can’t,
Just maybe, Love and Lust,
Hope quickly return,
And one day she’s gone,
Quiet desperation it is!
Yes, it is quiet desperation.
then another will come,
