Love

I can hear you knocking
At the doorway to my soul.
Seeking passageway,
Using love as your toll.

While here I sit and wonder
Should I begin again?
But I'm not sure, no I'm not sure
That I should let you in.

I really like this! so introspective and thought provoking. love the questioning and how it makes me wonder what happened to this person in the past, that they would hesitate to let love in. must be some great hurt. a great metaphor. p.s. i see that you're new here, so welcome, and post more poems :)
