Love

Love ‘Tis Christmas past to celebrate When Love came down. And in this lonely quiet estate, I reminisce When Love came home. Fatigue sets in, but just for a time, Love is active, love sublime, Thinking of what would please another, The sacrifice of uncomfortable travel, Even tired and shopping frustrations Are manifestations of Love. Love can be the pralines you spilled on the floor, Love can be a neighbor with a gift at the door. Love is the lights hung on a cold winter day, Love is the nap when the kids go away. Love can be felt in tenderness; Love can be emotional and nostalgic, But Love isn’t any of those things, Without the root of believing in it, And giving of self no matter Where “feelings” may take us.
