Lost Stars

The stars of my birth
Have abandonded me
They don't seem the same
As they used to be
As far from the heavens
As the deepest sea
As far from paradise
As they could flee
They shine no comfort
No light to bear
A void as endless
As despair
Their angels lie
unclothed and prone
No feathers fall
To fly me home
No joy or grief
Will show me peace
All I have left
Is empty breath
I submit
To bleed my screams
For sacrament
Feed my pain with flame
Let it begin
There is no salvation
Without sin

What a beautiful write, the stars will never abandon you forever or for too long, dear friend, they know your soul, they will be back. There is always a cost for salvation, no feathers fall from messengers, powerful poem Michelle. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

A passionate poem of the cost of salvation. It's true, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." The original sin allowed us to experience the grace and Love of God. I enjoyed reading your poetry today, Michelle. Thanks for sharing your thoughts through your fine poetry, my friend. Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

Wise as always and very deep. Really intense ' I submit to bleed my screams for sacrement let it begin, but your last two lines say it all - there is no salvation without sin. Each human being on earth is not without sin, we will therefore all need savation. Hugs and blessings. Jennifer.

These lines are truly profound musings, meditations from deep within your soul, Michelle. Every image has been carefully crafted for maximum impact that unfurls from line to line! I am in awe of its power and powerful message. "No feathers fall to fly me home." An amazing line expressing grief! And, yet, your last two lines bring everything back into perspective. There is salvation and we are blessed with the presence of God's messengers - angels. Best wishes for the contest. Blessings!

Such an intriguing poem, Michelle. The feeling of utter abandonment is palpable, and the idea of unfeathered angels is so unique! Excellent write! :)
