Lost Love

LOST LOVE ~~~~~ Furtive, I sensed, my true love was hiding. Was my love unrequited, lost, forlorn? In denial, the thought, was she lying? My true love lost, dead before it was born. At first humble but she turned nonchalant Her words and moods implied no interest My heart had strayed, yes fooled, but still extant, Lives on, a lesson learned, it did its best. Shallow are those that break the rules of love. My true heart gave love to an unworthy. My heart free, survived, now needs, begs a shove, To find true love that won't drive me crazy. One who follows ascetic ways in life, One lost to love, to be my forever wife! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Such a poignant sonnet of lost love Mick, with beautiful poetic expression and wonderful use of the required words 'Shallow are those that break the rules of love' - what a fantastic line! Congratulations on your lovely placement in the contest. Warmest wishes. ~Susan

Surprising how so many are indeed not worthy of love. Congrats on your fine win, Mick.
