Lost Love
She weeps at the ocean, swallowing tears
She thought she had met a sweet, humble, man
Then, his furtive actions confirmed her fears
Waves crash, where a nonchalant person ran
Here on the beach where they met in the past
Where all kisses and promises were made
Now his shallow heart haunts her very fast
All broken with shells in blown dunes that fade
Lost love disappears in the salty mist
Deep pain engulfs her on the empty shore
Mistaken, lonely, so shocked by the twist
She reminds herself there will be no more
She will be an ascetic if she must
Until ocean tides replenish her trust
