Lost keys
I just had them, they were on my person,
Have you seen them?
They have a keyring of gizmo,
He was my favourite growing up.
The keys opened up so much,
Where could they be?
In a safe I have all precious things,
Gem stones, gold and documents,
Proof of corporeal voyage,
My passport is in there,
I feel stuck here until I find those keys.
There is a small vial in there too with an iridescent grain,
That is my soul.
The keys abandon unmoors aporia drifts of progress.
Have you seen my keys?
My car keys,
I don’t remember where I parked,
I was moving, I just had them,
They were on my person.
I picked up a wayfarer cloaked in dust,
They spoke of vaults sealed,
And the long vigil beside the road of forgetting.
We stopped at that way station,
We needed fuel and snacks.
They are around here somewhere I’m sure, we need to keep moving.
Road signs leading to Eidolon, the city for the Abatement youth.
My house keys were on there,
The little silver one with the teeth like a crocodile.
I’m outside the door and patting down my pockets,
I slap my hips and my bum and my chest,
Mnemosyne’s lapse hides the parts of me.
It’s warm and the sun holds me in embrace,
I won’t panic as I look into the window of the abode,
A sanctum out of reach,
even if I can touch the lock and shout through the letterbox,
I don’t think anyone is home.
There is a small key too,
That unlocks the heart shaped padlock,
I used it to seal my fate.
I knew, even then, it needed sealing.
It needed to be locked so nobody could take it from me,
I kept it from myself because I always lose everything.
This is driving me nuts!
I looked under the carpet and
In the sand,
Traced my steps,
I sat in silence,
The last place I felt safe,
in your embrace, thoughts of the times I turned the key.
Do these keys keep me feeling safe?
Please,
They are here somewhere,
This is exhausting, I need to shut my eyes for a second.
You woke me up with your soft voice,
Eyes close to mine,
It’s time to go,
We can leave it all behind.
The locks don’t matter anymore.
