Busy days bustle along
Leaving your dreams long gone
Sitting amid the memories of yesterday
Where your creativity lays at rest
Peaceful there in the past
Where did the time go?
Have you sold out to the go-getter
The one who needs to make a million
And have the best of everything
Days go so quickly by, pretending
That there seems to be no ending
They roll from one into another
With only different color pants
That you find yourself wearing
Where did the time go?
Have you lost yourself somewhere
Between a paycheck that had your name
And made you feel like you had arrived
Didn’t you feel more like yourself then
When all the love was there within
Filling your life with good friends
Who helped you spend your time
Looking toward the heavens
