Written: September 23, 2023 __________________________________________________________ What was I thinking, I pondered alone, As my mind wandered my thoughts were thrown. Lost in a whirlwind of doubt and despair, I yearned for an answer, a purpose to share. To slice beyond the cacophony in my head. To find the clarity that I so desperately dread. Absence of time-wasting and overthinking. It was essential to disclose the truth sinking What was I thinking, I asked myself again As I delved into the depths of my mind, my pen Scribbled down views that were vapidly unclear, I needed to break free from this cycle of fear. Elucidatory excuses and rationalizations, Held me back from finding my true aspirations. I knew deep inside, there was further to explore A core persuasion that could ajar the door. What was the core cerebration, this query evolved. A whisper in my soul that couldn't be solved. I searched and pondered, my mind racing blast, Seeking answers that would bear the doubts last. Suddenly, the light bulb went off in my head. The primary concept drove me to fight instead. A question of motivation came into play here. My endless nights—what was I thinking or fear? What were we thinking, all those sleepless nights? It's time to uncover our true inner lights. Not beyond wandering in doubt and plights Lost in a maze of worries and frights.

I enjoyed this poem enormously Lasaad and I think that many people become lost in thought about the exactly the same which you have so creatively and beautifully laid out in poetic form for us, do often, including me, and yet do we ever reach a conclusive decision - that is debatable, some yes, others no. The mind is incredible, as is this sensational write, it wanders to places and people we have never seen, especially in dreams, we can not rely on dreams, but been awake and wanting to find a finality we become ' lost in a maze of worries and frights' Lovely write my friend. Hugs and blessings from across the pond to you. Jennifer.

I've been reading some great rhyming poems today, and this one is just as good.. I've not posted a rhyme poem for a while.. I think i get lazy when I rhyme.. i can feel your thoughts here, pondering about life and portraying them through your poetry.. as always a great poem to read..

How little we take to put our thoughts in order and not worry about the future. I am at fault in this because I want everything in their proper order. Great poem.

I love the picture you’ve used here, rainbow macaws, i have them as pets too. Such a sincere and heartfelt write this is about your thoughts, i think many can resonate, i often too find myself questioning, and having to break free from cycle of fears etc. i love how you’ve phrased these thoughts especially “lost in a whirlwind of despair” “ a whisper in my soul that couldnt be solved” such profound lines so poetically delivered and your rhymes are as always so sublime and captivating!love ths

We are often confused and cannot answer what we have been thinking ! There are muddles of thoughts plaguing our mind now and then. It is hard to single out our thoughts or align them in logical sequence. There is no clarity or lucidity to our thoughts. We are often left in a quandary of thoughts. This poem is so relatable to most of us. The confusion and befuddlement are so powerfully depicted, dear Lasaad!

Great work. I could relate. You know what it takes to make a great piece. But there are times when the mind just dries up. Then you'll get your rest.
