Lost Hope
When I look into the mirror, what do I see? I see a stranger staring back at me.
Gone are those eyes that used to sparkle with fun... Now I see darkness, my demons have won.
Those hours spent crying have taken their toll... I stopped looking for saving, now just a failing soul.
My smile is weary, it never reaches my eyes... I still practice with those muscles, they are my trusty disguise.
Who am I kidding, for the truth is plain to see... It doesn't take a detective to see the pain within me.
Nobody wants to know though, the suffering in my heart... For if you ask me those questions, you will have to then be a part.
The danger is now 'passed', my healing should begin... So why am I imprisoned, why should they win.
My laughter is hollow, I hear the pain as I joke... The truth is too dangerous, there is never fire without smoke.
How can I solve this mystery, somebody give me a clue... For without another's soft guidance, I believe my hope is now through.
