Lost Friends

How many of us have made the mistake Of losing friends along the way Wake up one morning and they're gone Sitting there wondering what went wrong As memories of them flood back in With one question of why another of when Where the mind takes less than it gives away The heart is so fickle in the games that it plays As you look around at the friends you have now Wondering how long till they're gone themselves Is it going to go down early or late And are they sitting there thinking the same Sitting here thinking of the friends I've made and lost along this path I'm on...

Take care of your real friends. You will lose them along the way to old age. And you will miss them. Good poem, Mike.

I've had a couple of fly by night friends in my lifetime too; have 2 loyal friends from childhood for a couple of decades now and consider some of my co-workers friends as well as some of you on the soup~Nice though provoking write Mike!~Che :)
