Lost

Still my breath, keep pace my heart As the mist in my eyes hangs violently on the morning. The rush of waters echo off towering stones Set on ventriloquy's course. In this forest where even beasts leave not their mark, so esoteric my location. I wander alone deprived of touch or comforts sound. I, a foreign soil, a language seasoned only by time, void of dissemination. My compass of childhood disappoints, I am alone. Lost. Sorrows longest night. How did I get here? 'Twas a leisurely stride which dimmed by the day; Finding me now with sight withered, helpless and Faded away. I am unseen, an apparition of my antiquity They don't even know I'm gone. My disappearance an enigma, for in my absence I smile before them. There in form I never left. Life goes on they say Yet that "me" is lost, Never to be again. Only illusion traces back. A million shards, a kaleidoscope of pieces, anamnesis of what used to be; Locked away within the sanctuary, in pieces of an exclusive dream. Parts and pieces appear to fit, giving rise to hopes conclusion; still I find There is no map for the lost's evolution. Lost... An antonym predicated upon being found Herein lies the paradox, the forrest for the trees... Found is not what I need to be now, but to be filled to capacity. Then in peaceful serenity, maybe I will sleep.

This is so very deep and emotional. How can it be that such a mental and emotional state is to occur unnoticed but by ones who sit quietly and endure. The word that comes to mind is Bereft, the subject of one of my poems and of similar mood. I hope you're well.

Hello Mark, I was honored to read your poem "Bereft" And yes... Resonated deeply. A deeply emotional piece mirrored to this one. How can it be? I think artists "feel" with such intensity, only another artist can even discern such passion. For many, there remains a tastelessness of sorts. It's been wonderful to make your acquaintance. I look forward to catching up now that I too have discovered in you...a brilliant poet.

Jack, you know, I love you with such an endearing quality that usually only stems from decades of friendship. You however, captured my heart and sent my spirit soaring on wings of laughter. You are my morning's coffee companion, and the steward of my good night tea. From morning till night, in the sweetest way, you my dear friend are with me! Hugs XOXOX
