Loss of Innocence

Fragrant flower, Jasmine infused, the evening breathes comic book laughter, colors white and green and yellow. Our heroes, our saviors in bold of twilight blue and mud red ocher. Perfume fingers stretch forth on evening breeze searching for that champion only to find, beneath primary hues, a miriad of diffuse pastel hides beneath balloon exclamations, our vain attempt to save us from ourselves. 04/22/18

I like this. The message is clear and a tad mysterious at the same time. Many wishes, Kai

James, I agree with your comment below. A remarkable poem here. I've added it to my favourites. It is very simple, but so much to read into this poem, that goes well beyond youth and comic books and heroes. L

Another great comment Leanne, I'm not sure that I believe in heroes. We all make decisions, right or wrong, if there are heroes in this world, I think, perhaps, they are the ones who accept responsibility for the choices they make, right or wrong.

Thank you. We seem to always be looking for a hero to save us, when, perhaps we should be looking in the mirror.
