Loss

How can I describe it?
That feeling deep in the crevices of my mind
  where the darkness takes hold, strangles every feeling,
  steals away the very desire to live;
beyond the realm of sun and its warm light
  the heart cringes away from all emotion
  when laughter doesn't crack a smile, even tears do not fall.
I'm here
  never saw it coming, knew it was inevitable
  breaching the horizon at dusk.
The graying clouds,
  the overshadowing rainy haze, humid drippings of effortless observance,
  that all emcompassing sadness;
it grows over time
  counting the seconds and the hours, days and weeks of knowing you're gone
  and I am left in this emptiness;
as the nothingness embraces me
  do you watch silent, sorry at this place I hold
  where words cannot describe
the loss.
