Notes About The Poem

Los Amantes

They snugly tied 

            a lovers knot

                     around the bough

                             of a Mexican White Oak tree

                                       then carved 

                                their names 

                         and "Te Amo" 

                    on the bark

              for posterity


Los Amantes (Spanish) translates to "The Lovers"
