January 6 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Genesis 16-18 Key Verse – Genesis 16:2 … Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me.
LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY SIN-RESTRAINER Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your great might Thank You for forgiving my confessed carnality’s blight To help me against evil despisings’ insight… Let me please You with my dealings that are right. Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your best way Thank You for smiting my flight from Your guiding ray To make me submit under Your reign where I should stay… Let me remain in Your presence all the day. Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your peaceful appearance Thank You for correcting my non-compliance to Your covenant’s insurance To lead me seek You along Your gentle forbearance… Let me cleave unto You while leaning in Your everlasting assurance. Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your blessed fruitfulness Thank You for crashing my doubts about Your set timeliness To drive me trust Your promises upheld by Your faithfulness… Let me avoid unbelief causing destructiveness. Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your approving eyes Thank You for smiting my pride of vain exercise To push me rest myself in Your love and care that suffice… Let me seek Your comfort from Your words always wise. Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your tender mercies Thank You disciplining my mockery, laughing at Your policies To train me rely on Your truth, not on fallacies… Let me rise by Your power from my impotencies. Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your perfect justice Thank You for chastising my unbelief You surely can notice To move me repent from my unrighteous practice… Let me obey You gladly while I fulfill Your entrusted duties.
