Lord God, You Are My One and Only Resort

September 17 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Mark 10-12 Key Verse – Mark 10:1 And he (Jesus) arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again. LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY ONE AND ONLY RESORT Lord God, You are my one and only Resort in times of affliction Thank You that You alone can take me into Your arms of compassion So that I can withstand temptation with its fatal oppression… I cleave to You and Your truth’s foundation. Lord God, You are my one and only Resort in times of grieving Thank You that You alone can deliver me from fleshly striving So that I can delight in Your Word, always worthy of believing… I trust You and Your heart, verily loving. Lord God, You are my one and only Resort in times of displeasure Thank You that You alone can grant unto me peace and mercy You assure So that I can receive Your goodness’ comfort, devoid of pressure… I cling to You and Your kindness beyond measure. Lord God, You are my one and only Resort in times of discontentment Thank You that You alone can pour unto me blessings’ fulfillment So that I can bear fruits through prayerful commitment… I follow You and Your instructions of authoritative commandment. Lord God, You are my one and only Resort in times of fright Thank You that You alone can answer me by Your wisdom that’s right So that I can study, illumined by precepts’ guiding light… I seek You and Your forgiveness as I admit my sins with repentant plight. Lord God, You are my one and only Resort in times of diligent zest Thank You that You alone can fill me up in my service-vineyard’s harvest So that I can overcome challenge, trial or test… I abide in You and Your fortress for victory so blest. Lord God, You are my one and only Resort in times of sacrifices Thank You that You alone can favor me along my devotion-causes So that I can check my motives for laboring despite material losses… I prioritize You and Your kingdom upon Your divine braces.
