Loosing Myslef...

Looking at the picture of myself
Beautiful sitting on the top shelf
Parents fighting mom is crying
A smile and laugh thats really lying
Dad working hard but not hard enough
No clothes no money times get rough
I dont cry i just close my door and write
Bringing to my heart that innosent light
Only 8 and all i wanted do is shout
Only 13 and drugs were my way out
15 an I ran away with my bestfriend
Everything was better till it had to end
By 16 i was a mess and kicked out
and still dont know what lifes about
Looking at the picture of myself
Lost and sitting on the top shelf

This is such moving and beautifully written poetry. It is sad that you have had so much pain so young. I hope that things have gotten better. You have talent in expressung yourself. I hope you still write. Love, Robin
